Frogmore Village has its own Bakery which makes and sells delicious freshly baked bread, pasties, quiches and croissants! it has a Post Office & Convenience Store and also a Dining Pub all just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage door.
Frogmore is a small village sitting at the end of Frogmore Creek, which leads off the Salcombe Estuary. It is ideally situated between pretty Salcombe, with its sandy beaches, lovely shops and restaurants to the West and historic Dartmouth with its charming town and beautiful river to the East.
Frogmore is just a 3 mile drive from the quaint waterside market town of Kingsbridge with its many shops, pubs and restaurants and a fine Leisure Centre boasting an Olympic sized swimming pool.
Forget-me-not Cottage is extremely well placed for visiting the whole of the South Hams area, designated as
‘an area of outstanding natural beauty’, famous for its rolling hillsides, beautiful estuaries and 60 miles of fantastic and varied coastline, with many clean, safe and sandy beaches to suit all tastes.
Whatever your interest you are sure to find something to do in the South Hams including visits to Castles, Farms, National Trust Houses, Gardens, Museums and Galleries. You can take a cruise along the river Dart or a trip on the Devon Steam Railway. Why not visit the Sharpham Vineyards and on the first Saturday of every month you can visit the award winning Kingsbridge Farmers’ Market.
There is an endless choice of walks, both inland and along the stunning South Devon coastal scenery, all easily reached from Forget-me-not Cottage, or simply step outside the garden of the cottage and stroll along the creek at low tide.
If you fancy a day at the beach you will be spoiled for choice, from the
great sweep of flat golden sands at Bigbury or Thurlestone, or the lovely beach at North Sands, Salcombe, (if you visit the be sure to call in at the Winking Prawn Beach Cafe, it’s fantastic!), or you may prefer spectacular Slapton Sands, less than a 10 minute drive from the Cottage, and backed by the extraordinary freshwater lagoon, or drive another five minutes along the beautiful coastal road to the wooded sun-trap of Blackpool Sands which was voted the best family beach in Britain by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine and again has a brilliant cafe.
